Account Specialist (Hybrid) - Small Medium Business

Own Your Territory. Build Your Business. Drive Canadian Business Forward!

Are you a driven, entrepreneurial sales professional who thrives on prospecting and winning new business and helping small business owners succeed with the right technology solutions? Join TELUS as an Account Specialist on our Small Medium Business team — where you'll think like a CEO, build your own book of business from the ground up, and make a real impact on businesses across Canada.

Who We Are

TELUS Small Medium Business (SMB) is the fastest-growing segment in the industry. We're on a mission to become the digital-first technology provider of choice for businesses across Canada — making technology secure, simple, and worry-free. As we continue to grow nationally, we're looking for driven sales professionals to join our successful team and help shape the future of business technology.

Your Role

As an Account Specialist, you're not just a salesperson — you're a trusted advisor and entrepreneur who owns your results, your strategy, and your growth. You'll focus on outbound prospecting to connect with small business owners, identify their needs, and deliver tailored technology solutions that help them thrive in today's digital world. Here's how:

• Hunt and develop new business through strategic outbound prospecting and proactive outreach across your national territory
• Build and cultivate your own book of business from the ground up — not just work assigned leads
• Manage a full sales cycle from qualifying prospects to closing deals and building a strong client base
• Deliver consultative solutions tailored to each business's unique needs across our full portfolio — Mobility, Fibre Internet, Business Security and Generative AI solutions
• Cultivate long-term partnerships where clients see you as their trusted technology advisor, not a one-time transaction
• Leverage relationships and referrals as a primary growth engine alongside outbound prospecting
• Achieve and exceed monthly sales targets while maintaining a focus on customer success
• Maintain accurate pipeline records and manage your territory with an entrepreneurial mindset

What's In It For You

• Full OTE: $80,000 – $100,000 (based on 100% quota)
• Top Performers can achieve accelerator bonuses. Achieve 100% on all product lines and earn 200% commission
• Comprehensive benefits starting from day one, including a wellness account
• Generous TELUS share purchase program with company contributions
• Industry-leading training and development tools to master both traditional and AI-driven solutions – build in-demand skills for your career growth
• Clear career progression path to advanced sales or leadership roles within SMB or across TELUS
• Mentorship from top-performing sales leaders in the industry
• Supportive, high-performance team environment with a shared passion for winning
• Hybrid work model offering flexibility and autonomy — no travel requirements

What You'll Bring

• Proactive prospector mentality and high energy — you're energized by outbound prospecting and motivated by acquiring new business
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a focused pursuit of success and accountability for your results
• Strong communication, relationship-building, and virtual presentation skills
• Discipline around time management, setting priorities, and consistently hitting goals
• Adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced, high-performance environment
• Eagerness for continuous learning and career growth
• Positive attitude and the ability to build rapport quickly with business owners

Preferred (but we'll train the right attitude)

• Previous B2B or outbound sales experience
• Familiarity with CRM tools (Salesforce, GONG or similar)
• Background in technology, telecommunications, or SaaS sales
• Multilingual proficiency — a distinct advantage for our diverse client base
• Established professional network within the business community

Work Environment

• Hybrid model: balance in-office collaboration with remote autonomy
• Expanded national sales territory (Canada-wide)
• Access to cutting-edge sales technology and resources
• Collaborative culture with top industry mentors
