Missing Calgary Boy Parker Wells Found Dead in a Water Pipe Under Deerfoot Trail
Calgary Police Chief Katie McLellan says 11-year-old Parker Wells has been found dead in a water pipe running under Deerfoot Trail, two weeks after he wandered from his Thorncliffe day home. A tip that his shoe had been found nearby sent search teams back to the area Wednesday. Police say there is no evidence of criminality.

Eleven days into the search for Parker Wells, the Amber Alert has expired, and his family is asking Calgarians not to ease off, stressing the expiry is routine and the search is as urgent as ever. Premier Danielle Smith now says the province will look this fall at letting police issue alerts for missing vulnerable children.
