Alberta Infrastructure is responsible for delivering about one quarter of the Alberta government’s Capital Plan, which addresses the provincial infrastructure needs of Alberta’s population that support key social programs and services and economic development.
The Ministry designs, builds, manages, and maintains government-owned and operated facilities, and collaborates with other ministries to ensure that school and hospital infrastructure meet the needs of Alberta’s population. Infrastructure also provides accommodation services and manages a large portfolio of owned and leased facilities while maintaining fiscal accountability and optimizing value for Albertans.

Role Responsibilities
The Capital Projects Reporting Coordinator supports the Capital Projects Delivery Division (CPDD) and the Schools Delivery and Partnerships (SD&P) division through accurate reporting of project information and tracking/ management of operational improvement projects. The incumbent works with various internal and external stakeholders to address issues, manages reporting workflows, and communicates project status and related information. The incumbent is responsible for updating the branch intranet site, developing and monitoring the branch operational plan, providing training and support to branch staff as it relates to communications processes and procedures, and researching and providing advice to senior management on strategies and measures. The incumbent plans and assists in facilitation of branch meetings, supporting the branch's continuous improvement framework, implementing improvement initiatives through CPDD, SD&P and coordinating updates of information systems.
The primary responsibilities for the Capital Projects Reporting Coordinator include, but are not limited to:
- Developing responses to non-project specific action requests and briefings as required.
- Providing branch input into the Ministry's Capital Plan, Annual Reports, Public Accounts, Committee of Supply, Session, and Budget documents.
- Collaborating with the department's business planning group to provide input and solicit feedback on goal congruency with department, division, and branch.
- Consulting with branch Directors and Executive Director on best practices to achieve goals and strategies recommended for implementation through the business plan.
- Coordinating and facilitating sessions with project managers, coordinators, and administrative staff to collect improvement ideas, solicit feedback on potential improvement projects and provide status updates on improvement projects underway.
- Leading working groups through the development and improvement of business processes.
- Tracking staff utilization and proposing resourcing strategies/opportunities with Project Directors to achieve operational goals.

Qualifications

Required
- University degree in Business, Economics, Public Administration or equivalent education and experience.
- PLUS Two (2) years of progressively responsible related experience.
- Knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint and strong Excel skills.
Equivalency: Related experience or education (e.g. related diploma) may be considered as an equivalency on a one-for-one basis.

- Navigating the Contract Management System.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics.

These positions are 1 Permanent full-time and 1 Temporary, full-time roles with the standard weekly work hours of 36.25, Monday to Friday (8:15 am – 4:30 pm).
Location: Edmonton AB.
