The Opportunity:
The City of Red Deer is currently recruiting for a Corporate Asset Management Supervisor to fill a Regular Full-time position. The Supervisor, Corporate Asset Management is responsible for leading and advancing The City’s corporate asset management program by establishing governance, policies, standards, and best practices that support the sustainable management of municipal assets. The position provides strategic leadership to ensure asset management principles are consistently applied across the organization and integrated with long-term financial planning, capital investment, and service delivery objectives.
Reporting to the Manager, Financial Business Advisory Services, this position provides leadership and oversight to asset management staff and serves as the corporate subject matter expert for asset management practices, systems, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Top Key Responsibilities
Lead and supervise the Corporate Asset Management team - Provide direction, assign work, monitor performance, and support staff development through coaching, mentoring, and training.
Develop and maintain corporate asset management governance frameworks - Establish standards, methodologies, policies, procedures, and governance practices that support consistent asset management across the organization.
Implement and oversee the Corporate Asset Management Plan - Lead the execution of corporate asset management initiatives and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
Drive organizational adoption of asset management practices - Promote awareness, change management, and consistent application of asset management principles throughout the organization.
Establish and manage asset information and data governance - Develop asset information standards, data requirements, quality assurance processes, and governance practices to ensure reliable data.
Oversee asset data quality, integrity, and reporting systems - Ensure corporate asset data is accurate, consistent, accessible, and effectively managed across systems and platforms.
Develop and maintain asset management reporting and performance measurement frameworks - Create reporting processes, performance indicators, dashboards, and analytics to support organizational decision-making.
Provide strategic analysis to support infrastructure investment and lifecycle decisions - Analyze asset condition, performance, risks, trends, and investment needs to inform planning and prioritization.
Identify, assess, and communicate infrastructure risks and opportunities - Monitor emerging issues, recommend mitigation strategies, and support risk-based asset management decisions.
Build collaborative relationships and provide expert advisory services - Work with departments and external stakeholders to improve asset management maturity, governance, organizational effectiveness, and data-driven decision-making.
Executive Summary of the Role
This role is primarily responsible for leading the organization's corporate asset management program, including team leadership, governance, data management, reporting, analytics, and strategic decision support. The position ensures that asset information is reliable, asset management practices are consistently applied, and organizational leaders have the insights needed to make informed infrastructure investment and lifecycle management decisions.
As our preferred candidate, you will have
Degree in Engineering, Finance, Business, Planning, or related discipline.
Professional designation or certification in Asset Management, Engineering, Project Management, or Infrastructure Management considered an asset.
6 to 8 years of progressive experience in asset management, infrastructure planning, facilities management, municipal operations, finance, engineering or related field.

Remuneration: $46.23 to $57.77 per hour ($90,495.23 to $113,084.78 per annum)
Hours of Work: 75 hours biweekly; Monday to Friday, some evening and weekend work may be required when needed.
