About this job
The University of Lethbridge Building Maintenance Department is seeking a skilled Events Set Up Worker (Facilities Operations 5) to join our team as soon as possible. In this role, you’ll report to the Manager of Building Maintenance and Grounds and be responsible for fulfilling work orders related to event setups and takedowns.
Events at our university often have tight schedules, demanding excellent organizational skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. You’ll manage deliveries of event equipment like tables and chairs on a daily basis, ensuring efficient storage room inventories to promptly respond to event requests.
As you’ll interact with campus stakeholders regularly, strong communication skills are crucial. While event work orders typically cover all necessary items, adjustments may be needed on the event day, requiring collaboration with stakeholders to ensure setups are correct. You’ll also coordinate with Building Maintenance Operators for larger event setups and takedowns, and occasionally work evenings and weekends to accommodate various event needs.
During downtime from events, you’ll assist Building Maintenance Operators with tasks such as changing lights, office moves, and other general maintenance duties. This role offers a dynamic environment where you’ll contribute to the smooth operation of university events while supporting broader maintenance efforts. If you thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative setting and possess strong organizational and communication skills, we encourage you to apply for this position.
Note: A valid unrestricted Class 5 Driver’s License with no more than 6 demerits and submission of a motor vehicle record (driver abstract) dated within 3 months of the posting close is required.
Hourly Rate: $21.87
