Generalist, Asset Work Management

Location - This role is hybrid with a mix of remote and in-person. Work primarily takes place at North Campus, Edmonton.

Position Summary

The Generalist acts as the first point of contact and provides support for payroll and management of this information in our Asset Work Management (AiM) system. The incumbent is responsible for supporting and facilitating the submission of exception pay forms, and communicating employee status changes and related pertinent information to the appropriate leaders.

You will be the initiator of many items now being processed by Shared Services. These items will include updates to employee records, appointments/reappointments and changes to roles. Additional duties include keying absences into AiM and PeopleSoft HCM, generating reports, reconciling payroll and submitting corrections when required.

• Review employee time entries and supporting documentation for accuracy, compliance to policy, the collective agreement(s), employment standards and appropriate authorizations.
• Enters timecards and adjusts in AiM, confirms they are submitted appropriately and contain proper signatures/authorizations.
• Researches and compiles information as requested by the HR Partners.
• Determines accurate exception pay amounts (shift diff, overtime), calculates payout for responsibility pay, reconciles vacation and provides bank time payout balances to Shared Services.
• Coordinates and initiates various activities (eForms/ePAFs, speed code change requests, one-time payments, honorariums, off-cycle payments, leave requests, responsibility/acting pay, position information change forms, appointment/re-appointment requests, terminations, etc.).
• Escalates issues to the Staff Service Centre or assigned HR Partner.
• Act as the CCID Authorized Approver.

• A Diploma in Business.
• 5 years in an operations maintenance environment.
• 1 year of exception pay experience.
• Work order management experience preferred.
• Demonstrate ability to manage time and workload effectively and meet deadlines.
• Strong skills with U of A applications are preferred (Google, PeopleSoft, Bear Tracks, ARISE, Campus Solutions, Alfresco, APS appointment process, etc.).
• Excellent computer skills including proficiency in use of database, spreadsheet and word processing software.
