Make your mark while you grow your career! We have an amazing opportunity for an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to join our Mine Operations team at Albian! As a valuable member of the Mine Tailings Department and reporting to the Shift Team Lead, you will support and implement the goals of Mine Operations by safely operating various kinds of equipment to complete operation’s objectives. 

• Job location: Fort McMurray, Alberta - Albian Oil Sands site (Mine Tailings)
• Shift schedule: 7 x 7, 12-hour shift  
• Safety sensitive position: Yes

Key Accountabilities

• Contribute your expertise with the following roles in a Tailings environment:
  • Permit Issuer
  • Area Operator (Line Patrol)
  • Area Authority
  • Lock Out Authority (Lock Out Tag Out)/Isolations
  • Cell Construction/Sand Placement
• Contribute your expertise with the following heavy equipment in a Tailings environment:
  • Dozer (D8)
  • Rock Truck
  • Grader
  • Excavator
  • Loader
• Contribute your expertise with the following fluid transfer equipment:
  • Diesel Pumps
  • Electric/Diesel Dredges
  • Electric Barges
  • Pipe fusing
• Comply with all Health and Safety Requirements established by Canadian Natural including the use of Canadian Natural’s Safety Management System tools such as FLHA’s, Hazard ID’s and WSO’s 
• Comply with all regulations and legislative requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Act for the Province of Alberta and environmental standards

What You Bring to the Role

• Grade 12 Diploma or Equivalency
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience directly in a Tailings environment, preferably experience with cell construction, tailings process, operating heavy equipment and/or fluid transfer equipment
• Marine Master’s Limited Certification would be an asset
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
