Location - This role is in-person at North Campus Edmonton.

Reporting to the Nursing Simulation Centre (NSC) Operations Lead and working closely with the NSC Executive Director, this Recurring Auxiliary position plays an important role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the Nursing Simulation Centre (NSC) and delivering engaging, hands-on learning experiences. This position is inactive during July and August.

The successful candidate will support lab setups, inventory ordering, and clinical laboratory equipment maintenance, while also assisting with administrative duties and the delivery of simulated learning experiences, including iVR, vSim, standardized patient simulations, and other simulation activities.

This position provides frontline support to students and faculty by responding to inquiries related to NSC services, resources, and simulated learning. The incumbent also acts as a liaison with internal and external contacts and coordinates audio-visual support for lab teaching.

The ideal candidate is organized, collaborative, adaptable, and service-oriented, with an interest in supporting innovative approaches to nursing education. The position requires flexibility to work the full range of lab teaching hours as needed, including occasional evenings and weekends.

• With guidance from the NSC Operations Lead, coordinate daily and weekly simulation lab schedules, equipment requirements, room setups, tours, special bookings, and extended-hour support.
• Prepare, set up, maintain, clean, store, and troubleshoot simulation equipment and supplies, ensuring labs are safe, orderly, fully stocked, and operationally ready.
• Prepare, configure, and operate iVR equipment and software for scheduled learning activities, including launching simulations, managing casting, and supporting students and instructors during live sessions.
• Provide orientation and technical support for simulation and iVR activities; troubleshoot hardware, software, connectivity, login, and synchronization issues and escalate unresolved issues as required.
• Manage equipment, inventory, consumable supplies, safety resources, maintenance, charging, updates, security, and storage, including receiving, tracking, and disposal of equipment and materials.
• Provide administrative and operational support to NSC leadership, including scheduling, purchasing, policies and procedures, course and lab materials, visitor coordination, maintenance and security issues, and special projects.
• Support onboarding and knowledge sharing for staff and casual personnel and contribute to improving simulation and iVR workflows, procedures, documentation, and consistent operational practices.

• High School diploma required
• Business or office administration training and/or experience is an asset
• Working knowledge of WHMIS, TDG, fire security, and building security is an asset 
• Excellent working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word and Access), Zoom and Google; experience with SupplyNet is an asset. 
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills (oral and written)
• Ability to work in a dynamic environment (i.e., adaptable to change, flexible, and ability to independently solve problems as they arise) 
• Familiarity with audio-visual equipment, simulation technologies, Smart Classrooms, and immersive learning technologies.
• Experience coordinating operational supplies, equipment inventory, and low-dollar purchasing processes in a clinical, simulation, or educational environment is an asset. 
• Experience in a clinical setting is an asset
• Ability to learn and operate specialized immersive virtual reality (iVR) hardware and software platforms in a live instructional environment.
• Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills related to simulation, audio-visual, and immersive learning technologies.
• Ability to support multiple concurrent operational and technical activities in fast-paced simulation and learning environments.
