MacEwan University is seeking a Senior Analyst, Academic Quality Assurance for a full-time 11-month, replacement term opportunity with the Office of the Provost & Vice-President, Academic.
You will provide analytical resource support for quality assurance activities at MacEwan. You will also assist with program and academic unit review, program development and program changes, and institutional collaborative activities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Collecting, analyzing, and managing accurate data for cyclical program reviews, as well as required forms and templates for program development processes including new program development and program changes;
- Developing evaluation models and evaluation instruments for cyclical program and unit reviews within Academic Affairs in consultation with faculty and other relevant stakeholders;
- Supporting Faculties and Schools with the continuous measurement and analysis of program and institutional learning outcomes;
- Educating and supporting faculty in the use of data in the program review process;
- Working with Information Technology to design and implement a system for the appropriate public dissemination of the results of program and unit reviews;
- Working with the Academic Quality Assurance Officer to facilitate and support program review processes, including the organization of external reviews and the submission of reports internally and externally;
- Conducting environmental scans in support of program planning;
- Maintaining expertise on data standards set by the Post-Secondary Programs Branch, the Alberta Government, and any other relevant agency or body, and communicating these standards within Academic Affairs, as necessary;
- Supporting and working with the Office of Institutional Analysis and Planning on the collection and management of survey data and results;
- Providing support for, or working on, research projects across the University;
- Providing technical and administrative support for the Scholarly Activity Dashboard in PeopleSoft; and
- Participating in University governance, committees, and working groups as resource support, and delivering educational presentations.
Skills
You will have:
- Expertise in educational assessment, especially the evaluation of learning outcomes;
- Intermediate to advanced skills with relevant software and technologies, including Microsoft Office, PeopleSoft, and SPSS;
- The ability to analyze data with accuracy and precision;
- The ability to design effective evaluation models and assessments;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills;
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with individuals with highly specialized knowledge;
- The ability to balance responsiveness with commitment to data integrity and compliance with data standards;
- The ability to work collaboratively and independently; and
- The ability to take initiative, especially the drive to identify gaps and improve processes and service.
Qualifications
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in an area related to statistics or social science research.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in higher education social sciences research with specific expertise in direct and indirect educational assessment.
- General expertise in instrument design, data analysis and interpretation, project management, and report writing.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
