Purpose
Contributes to the overall success of Creditor Insurance distribution across Contact Centre, Virtual Advice Team, Retention teams, and BNSIA onboarding and coaching teams that offer Scotiabank retail lending products. The incumbent supports the achievement of regional business objectives by driving product knowledge, sales effectiveness, and engagement across multiple distribution channels while ensuring all activities comply with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.
What You'll Do
Drive Business Growth and Regional Partnerships
- Build and maintain strong relationships with regional leadership teams across Retail and Small Business Banking distribution channels, including Regional SVPs, Regional Vice Presidents, Vice Presidents, Regional Directors, and Sales Managers.
- Influence leadership engagement and secure support for Creditor Insurance growth initiatives within the assigned region.
- Partner with Field Coaching, Client Solutions Canada, and Direct Branch Onboarding teams to strengthen sales effectiveness and customer outcomes.
- Identify business opportunities and recommend strategies by analyzing sales performance, market conditions, industry trends, and regional data.
Deliver Coaching, Training, and Sales Excellence
- Provide ongoing coaching, training, and consultation to frontline sales teams across multiple channels.
- Ensure a high level of understanding of creditor protection products, including product benefits, suitability considerations, policy conditions, limitations, exclusions, and sales practices.
- Deliver engaging and motivating presentations to regional, district, team, and individual audiences.
- Participate in client appreciation events, information sessions, and regional business meetings to support awareness and growth initiatives.
- Serve as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert for regional sales leaders and distribution partners.
Collaborate and Lead
- Work closely with a national team of Senior Regional Insurance Managers to achieve business objectives and drive consistent execution across regions.
- Foster a client-focused culture that strengthens customer relationships and leverages the broader Bank's systems, knowledge, and capabilities.
- Contribute to a high-performance, inclusive, and collaborative work environment.
Risk Management and Compliance
- Understand and apply the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Ensure adherence to Scotiabank's Code of Conduct, Values, and Global Sales Principles.
- Support compliance with operational, regulatory, AML/ATF, sanctions, conduct risk, and business control requirements.
What You Bring
- 7+ years of sales experience within the financial services industry.
- Strong sales leadership, relationship management, and business development capabilities.
- Demonstrated success coaching and influencing sales teams to achieve results.
- Excellent presentation, facilitation, and communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to simplify complex concepts and deliver impactful learning experiences.
- Proven ability to build strategic partnerships with leadership teams and key stakeholders.
- Self-motivated and highly organized, with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Deep understanding of insurance products, financial planning concepts, and customer needs.
- Strong knowledge of retail banking sales and distribution channels, including direct and indirect distribution models.
- Knowledge of Scotiabank onboarding teams, including Client Solutions Canada (CSC) and Direct Branch Onboarding, is considered an asset.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Professional designations such as PFP, CFP, or AMP are considered assets.
Location & Travel
This role is based in Edmonton, Alberta and requires regular travel throughout the assigned region to support coaching, training sessions, leadership meetings, and business development activities.
