The Role
The Student Recruitment and Retention Specialist will serve as a primary ambassador for NWP, with a dedicated focus on northern Indigenous communities and reserves. The heart of this role is relationship-building; you will travel extensively to meet with Band leaders, community members, and prospective students to foster trust and create pathways to post-secondary success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Indigenous Community Engagement: Travel frequently to northern reserves and regional communities to build sustainable relationships with Band councils and education coordinators.
- Strategic Recruitment: Execute outreach strategies that align with NWP’s commitment to reconciliation and the Truth and Reconciliation Commission's Calls to Action.
- Student Advocacy: Serve as a knowledgeable guide for prospective Indigenous students, navigating the recruitment process through a lens of cultural understanding.
- Program Support: Collaborate with the Student Ambassador program and internal departments to ensure a supportive, inclusive environment for all incoming students.
