Medicine Hat College is welcoming applications for a Research Assistant for a Medicine Hat College research funded project. This is a flexible contract position during the months of September 2026 to April 2027 for a total of 40 hours.
A little about the role:
The research project is within Early Childhood Education program in the Faculty of Arts, Science and Education and is being led by Jennifer Usher, MHC Early Childhood Education (ECE) Program Coordinator and Principal Researcher. The project title is “Coursework That Counts: Building ECE Student Confidence in Positive Child Guidance”. This research assistant position will involve conducting a literature review- gathering of scholarly articles relevant to the research project. The project research objectives are to examine how participation in a college-level course on Child Guidance influences ECE students’ confidence in three areas: engaging in positive interactions, implementing universal child guidance practices, and managing challenging behaviours. This position has flexible hours and can be done online from home or from MHC.
