Strathcona County is seeking a collaborative, service-focused Talent Acquisition Specialist to support full-cycle recruitment and talent attraction initiatives across the organization.
Reporting to the Supervisor, Talent Acquisition, this role plays an integral part in delivering a positive candidate and hiring manager experience. Working closely with Talent Acquisition Partners, hiring leaders, candidates, and HR colleagues, the Talent Acquisition Specialist provides operational and recruitment support throughout the hiring lifecycle, helping attract, engage, and hire top talent while ensuring an efficient, seamless, and professional recruitment process.

Key Responsibilities
- Support full-cycle recruitment activities, including job postings, candidate communications, interview scheduling, assessments, reference checks, background checks and post-offer coordination
- Manage recruitment inquiries and communicate timely updates to candidates throughout the recruitment process
- Work within Oracle and other recruitment systems to support resume screening, applicant tracking, offer documentation, candidate records and recruitment status updates
- Coordinate career fairs, campus recruitment activities, information sessions and other talent attraction events
- Build and maintain talent pipelines using LinkedIn, job boards, Boolean searches and other sourcing methods
- Maintain Talent Acquisition resources and content, including SharePoint pages, recruitment materials, templates, procedures, interview tools and training documentation
- Support diversity and inclusion initiatives, recruitment marketing and employer-brand activities
- Compile recruitment data, maintain dashboards and metrics, track advertising and job-board effectiveness, and support reporting and analysis
- Contribute to training, system support, research and continuous improvement projects within Talent Acquisition
Qualifications and Skills
- Related training or certificate in Human Resources, Business, Management or an equivalent discipline, plus a minimum of 5 years of related experience supporting high volume recruitment
- In-depth knowledge of HR policies, staffing processes and procedures, employment terms and conditions, and talent acquisition practices
- Strong technical skills and the ability to work across multiple systems, including Oracle, advanced Excel and SharePoint
- Proficiency with sourcing tools such as LinkedIn Recruiter, job boards and ATS/CRM systems, including the use of Boolean search techniques
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to compile, manipulate and present recruitment data
- Excellent organization and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple recruitment schedules, projects and changing deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication, customer service and relationship-building skills
- High attention to detail, sound judgment and discretion, with the ability to manage confidential information with integrity and professionalism
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
