Calgary Driver Clocked at 111 km/h in a 60 Zone on 96 Avenue N.E., Faces $1,200 Fine and 30-Day Suspension Plus $1,273 in Tickets
Calgary police clocked a Kia at 111 km/h in a 60 km/h zone on eastbound 96 Avenue N.E. near Deerfoot Trail, 51 km/h over. That one extra kilometre an hour turns a set fine into a mandatory court date, with a potential $1,200 fine and 30-day suspension. The driver was also ticketed $1,273 for careless driving and expired registration. It’s the second high-speed stop police have publicized on that stretch since August.
