Alberta will ask private companies this fall to propose a high-speed rail line linking Calgary, Red Deer and Edmonton, with service to both international airports and Airdrie. Trains could reach 320 km/h, but the province wants minimal provincial investment in a project its own plan estimated at $38 billion.
