Man Dies Cliff Jumping Into the Highwood River, at Least the Fourth Death There Since 2005

A 35-year-old man drowned Saturday afternoon after jumping from a cliff into the Highwood River at Nature's Hideaway campground, about 30 kilometres southeast of Calgary. It's at least the fourth drowning at that spot since 2005. After a death there in 2019, the family asked for warning signs or restricted access. The cliff sits on public land beside a private campground, and no one has clear authority over it
