Spruce Grove's $50-Million Ballpark Near Edmonton Closes for 2026 Season, Playoffs Moved to Okotoks
The Energy City Cactus Rats announced Sunday that no more games will be played at Energy City Metro Ballpark during the 2026 season, with the team's playoff games moving to Okotoks. The $50-million ballpark was announced in 2020 with a planned 2022 opening but remains unfinished, currently operating under a permit limited to 150 people while its website continues to advertise an "Inaugural Game Package."
