Accommodations are available during the hiring process, upon request.As a Business Performance Strategist, you will provide advanced expertise in performance management, analytics, and evidence-based decision support to the Director and management team. You will also be responsible for developing and applying performance measurement frameworks, analytical methodologies, and data integration approaches that enable the organization to assess, understand, and improve business outcomes. Primary duties include:
- Develop and maintain performance measurement frameworks by establishing meaningful KPIs, benchmarks, and performance standards that align financial, operational, and service outcomes with business unit priorities and objectives.
- Drive consistent and scalable performance reporting through continuous improvement of measurement frameworks, ensuring standardized approaches that support effective business planning, reporting, and evaluation of organizational performance and service effectiveness.
- Conduct advanced data analysis and performance evaluation by integrating information from financial, operational, asset, and service systems to identify trends, performance drivers, risks, and opportunities using diagnostic, comparative, and predictive analytical techniques.
- Generate actionable business insights by performing root-cause analysis and translating complex data into clear, evidence-based findings that support operational improvements and informed management decision-making.
- Provide performance insights and decision support by developing analytical reports, performance narratives, and briefing materials that enable evidence-based discussions and informed decisions by senior leadership.
- Support business planning and performance improvement by delivering data-driven recommendations, informing budgeting and resource allocation processes, and evaluating initiatives to identify performance gaps and opportunities for operational optimization.
- Support continuous performance improvement by conducting benchmarking analyses, identifying opportunities for efficiency and innovation, and contributing to the development and implementation of initiatives that enhance business unit performance and service delivery.
- Advance organizational performance capabilities by promoting the use of analytics, KPIs, and evidence-based practices, while partnering with management to support performance monitoring, continuous improvement, and data-informed decision-making across the business unit.
- A degree in Business Administration, Management, Commerce, Accounting, Economics or other related field and at least 5 years of experience in strategic planning, financial analysis and interpretation, or complex multi-divisional organization.
- Experience with SQL and platforms such as Power BI or Tableau will be considered an asset.
- Experience developing and managing performance measures, KPIs, dashboards, and scorecards to support organizational performance reporting will be considered an asset.
- Success in this position requires strong interpersonal and organizational skills, excellent communication skills, facilitation skills, the ability to work collaboratively within a team and with a variety of interested parties, and the ability to prioritize and plan work effectively in a dynamic environment.

This position may be eligible to work from home for at least part of the time as one of several flexible work options available to City employees. These arrangements depend on the operational requirements of the role, employee suitability, and are subject to change based on operational needs and corporate direction.

- Compensation: Pay Grade 11 $46.21 - 61.78 per hour
- Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week.
- Days of work: This position works a 5-day work week with 1 day off in a 3 week cycle.
