About this opportunity:
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Commercial & Development, the Commercial & Development Analyst will focus on developing management dashboards, analytical tools, and executive-ready reporting to support commercial decision-making. The role will turn complex data into clear insights through financial and economic modelling, market analysis, data visualization, and automation using Excel, Power BI, Python, and other data platforms.
The role will help improve how commercial data is gathered, validated, analyzed, visualized, and communicated. The analyst will be responsible for building and maintaining reliable dashboards, recurring reports, models, and analytical workflows that provide senior management with timely, accurate, and actionable insights.
This internal-facing role combines commercial and technical analysis, with a strong focus on dashboard development, reporting automation, and process improvement. The successful candidate will manage large datasets, build repeatable analysis and visualization tools, and communicate clear, accurate insights under tight timelines.
What you’ll do:
Develop management reports, dashboards, and visual summaries using Excel, Power BI, and other reporting platforms.
Automate analytical tools, data workflows, and quality checks using Python, Power Query, or similar tools.
Analyze the competitive landscape, including customer netbacks, transportation alternatives, market fundamentals, and commercial options.
Prepare financial, economic, commercial, and analytical reports that convert complex data into clear insights and recommendations.
Build and maintain economic models, sensitivity tools, and scenario analyses to support commercial decision-making.
Draft and distribute contractual notices to customers, as required.
Support the development of Husky Midstream’s long-range plan through assumptions, analysis, and planning inputs.
Who you are:
Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:
Legally authorized to work in Canada.
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Commerce, Economics, Finance or equivalent.
Up to 3 years of relevant experience in commercial analysis, business development, finance, data analytics, market analysis, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Advanced working knowledge of the following:
Microsoft Excel, including Power Query, pivot tables, lookups, and data validation.
Microsoft PowerPoint, with the ability to convert analysis into clear executive-level presentations.
Power BI, including dashboard development, data modelling, and visualization best practices.
Experience in commercial, marketing or business development roles related to the midstream, an understanding of midstream industry principles and/or financial concepts would be considered an asset.
Experience with the following would be an asset:
Enverus, AccuMap, AbaData, ArcGIS, or similar mapping tools.
Python, SQL, or similar tools for data cleaning, automation, analysis, and repeatable reporting.
