Job Description
The Learning Solutions & Partnerships Specialist helps build and strengthen relationships with educational institutions, industry partners, and skilled trades stakeholders to support the growth, adoption, and impact of ILM learning resources. The Specialist identifies opportunities, understands stakeholder needs, conducts research and analysis, and develops practical strategies that advance partnership, business development, marketing, communications, and engagement goals. Through collaboration, relationship-building, outreach, and strategic problem-solving, the role helps increase awareness of ILM products and services, support stakeholder success, and contribute to organizational priorities and positive customer experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with educational institutions, partners, apprenticeship stakeholders, and other key organizations.
- Identify, develop, and support partnership opportunities that advance organizational goals and increase the reach of ILM learning resources.
- Engage with stakeholders to understand needs, gather feedback, and recommend solutions that create value and improve experiences.
- Conduct research, environmental scans, and analysis to inform business development, partnership, and strategic initiatives.
- Develop and implement partnership, engagement, marketing, and communication strategies that increase awareness and adoption of ILM products and services.
- Represent ILM at conferences, industry events, meetings, and networking opportunities to promote learning resources and strengthen stakeholder relationships.
- Help create communications, promotional materials, and stakeholder engagement resources.
- Collaborate with internal teams to support product development, customer experience improvements, and strategic projects.
- Monitor, evaluate, and report on partnership activities, stakeholder engagement efforts, and business development outcomes.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance processes, partnerships, services, and stakeholder experiences.
Knowledge
- Knowledge of customer service principles and stakeholder engagement practices.
- Understanding of business development processes and partnership development.
- Familiarity with post-secondary education, apprenticeship, and skilled trades environments.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, CRM systems, virtual meeting platforms, and communication technologies.
- Understanding of marketing, event coordination, and promotional activities.
Skills and Abilities
- Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building, and customer service skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
- Effective organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong research and analytical skills with the ability to gather and interpret information.
- Ability to coordinate meetings, outreach activities, and events with attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively across internal teams and with external partners.
- Strong presentation and communication skills.
Qualifications
- Two-year diploma in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Education, or a related field.
- An equivalent combination of education and directly related experience may be considered.
- Additional education or training related to stakeholder engagement, business development, communications, or event coordination would be considered an asset.
- Three to five years of experience supporting business development, partnership development, stakeholder engagement, customer relations, or related activities.
- Experience conducting outreach, researching prospective partners, coordinating meetings, and supporting customer acquisition initiatives.
- Experience organizing conferences, information sessions, or similar events.
- Experience working with post-secondary institutions, apprenticeship training providers, industry associations, or skilled trades organizations is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to build productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience using Microsoft Office, CRM systems, virtual meeting platforms, and communication tools to support outreach and engagement activities.
Applicants with education credentials earned outside of Canada should have their credentials evaluated by World Education Services (WES), International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS) or the Comparative Education Services (CES).

This position is covered by the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE) Collective Agreement.
Remuneration Refer to salary range noted on this posting, plus a comprehensive benefits package.
