Project Assistant, TLEG (HPED)

About the Role

Working within the department of Health and Physical Education (HPED), this is a flexible position whose work schedule is variable and may include an irregular schedule of not less than three (3) hours per shift and up to thirty-five (35) hours per week. 

The Project Assistant supports the Supervisor and team in the HPED program by handling daily administrative, organizational, and coordination tasks to keep the project on schedule. This teaching and learning enhancement project seeks to enhance student engagement, connection, and sense of belonging within the PHYL 4550* learning environment by introducing more integrative and applied learning opportunities. The proposed innovation combines three complementary components: (1) immersive, scenario-based learning modules that simulate experiences of inclusion and exclusion in physical activity settings; (2) reflective prompts embedded to guide deeper reflection, perspective-taking, and metacognitive awareness; and (3) embodied, movement-based learning labs that allow students to physically engage with concepts such as belonging, power, and emotional regulation.

Responsibilities

• Organize project meetings and work closely with the ADC specialist.
• Assist with plan development.
• Develop online resources or media development.
• Contribute to learning resources.
• Dissemination of project process and results.
• The incumbent will review the course content and available literature to recommend how to combine content to create an engaging and effective activity to build with ADC.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education.
• Students who have taken PHYL 4550 are preferred.

Salary: $15.45 - $19.44 per hour
