Accommodations are available during the hiring process, upon request.As the Project Management Specialist, you will support the development, implementation and maintenance of corporate project management practices, standards, guidance documents and tools for capital delivery across The City. You will provide subject matter expertise, analysis and coordination to help business units apply the Corporate Project Management Framework (CPMF)in a consistent and practical way. You will also work with the CPMF Program Manager, Steering Committee, project management consultants and business unit representatives to advance organizational project management practices. You will help align project, program and portfolio delivery approaches, support governance and reporting, and contribute to effective implementation of approved standards and practices. Primary duties include:
- Manages projects to create or revise CPMF standards, guidance documents and practices for projects, programs and annual investment programs.
- Coordinates and collaborates with multi-business unit subject matter experts to develop content that can be applied across capital delivery areas.
- Analyzes the effect of proposed changes on related standards, guidance and practices to maintain alignment across the framework.
- Supports governance processes, oversight activities and reporting associated with the corporate project management office.
- Helps develop and improve implementation processes, toolkits and templates that support application of CPMF standards and guidance.
- Works with communications resources and project teams to support change management and adoption of revised or new requirements.
- Conducts research and analysis to identify continuous improvement opportunities for portfolio, program and project delivery.
- A degree in Information Technology, Construction Project Management, Engineering, Architecture or related.
- At least 5 years of experience working with project management principles and methodologies in a complex organization.
- A Project Management Professional (PMP), Scaled Agile (SAFe), Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) and Change Management (Prosci) designations are considered an asset.
- Success in this position requires you to demonstrate strong facilitation, prioritization, planning and organizing skills in order to meet challenging deadlines.
- You will have excellent communication skills to prepare and present to a variety of audiences; well-developed consulting, consensus building and facilitation skills, business analysis/project management expertise.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a flexible approach.

- This position may be eligible to work from home for at least part of the time as one of several flexible work options available to City employees. These arrangements depend on the operational requirements of the role, employee suitability, and are subject to change based on operational needs and corporate direction.

- Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week.
- Days of work: This position works a 5-day work week with 1 day off in a 3 week cycle.
