The Opportunity
Keyano’s Facilities and Asset management Department is currently seeking a Supervisor, Operations and Planning to join their team. The position exists to ensure that departmental operational requirements, maintenance planning, capital renewal activities, facilities initiatives, service contracts, compliance requirements, and related resources are effectively planned, prioritized, monitored, and advanced. Reporting to the Director, Facilities & Asset Management, the position provides a layer of operational leadership between departmental management and administrative/operational resources. The position supports the Director by taking responsibility for the coordination and oversight of recurring operational requirements, planning activities, departmental priorities, and assigned initiatives.Note: this is not a remote or hybrid work opportunity, you will be required to work on campus and relocate to Fort McMurray, AB.

• Establish and maintain short, medium, and long-term operational and maintenance priorities in consultation with the Director and Facilities leadership.• Review maintenance requirements, service levels, operational needs, equipment condition, and emerging infrastructure issues.
• Plan and monitor preventative maintenance, inspections, permits, servicing, regulatory, contractual, and other recurring requirements.
• Identify operational, facilities, contractual, regulatory, financial, and service-delivery risks, resource constraints, and infrastructure requirements; provide recommendations and mitigation strategies.
• Support the development, prioritization, monitoring, and implementation of Capital Maintenance Renewal (CMR) requirements and approved facilities renewal initiatives.
• Assist in developing scopes, schedules, estimates, priorities, resource requirements, procurement strategies, and implementation plans for assigned initiatives.
• Monitor project and operational progress, risks, dependencies, performance, outstanding requirements, and service issues; recommend corrective action as required.
• Coordinate with Facilities Managers, contractors, consultants, Finance, Procurement, administrative resources, operational staff, and College department to advance approved work and ensure compliance with College policies and procedures.
• Provide operational oversight of service contracts, including renewals, deficiencies, performance concerns, expenditures, commitments, and resource requirements.
• Support annual and multi-year budget planning, forecasting, monitoring, reporting, and financial reviews; provide recommendations on emerging financial pressures.
• Prepare reports, forecasts, briefing materials, recommendations, and status updates for Facilities leadership and the Director.
• Supervise the Administrative Coordinator, provide direction to assigned employees and resources, resolve routine operational issues within delegated authority, and escalate matters requiring higher-level decision-making.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:• Bachelor’s degree in, Business Administration, Facilities Management, Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management, Asset Management, or a related discipline.
• Minimum five years of progressively responsible experience in facilities operations, maintenance planning, asset management, capital planning, project coordination, or a related field.
• Experience coordinating facilities operations, maintenance programs, contractors, service contracts, renewal initiatives, budgets, procurement, and operational reporting.
• Experience supervising employees and providing leadership and direction.
• Strong organizational, analytical, planning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and work independently.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and facilities, financial, administrative, or project management systems.
Nice to have:
• Knowledge of occupational health and safety requirements, facilities regulations, codes, standards, and contractual practices.
• PMP, CAPM, Facilities Management, Asset Management, or related professional certification.
• Equivalent combinations of education, training, and progressively responsible leadership experience may be considered.
