Position Overview:

We are currently looking for dedicated Welders who will be responsible for a variety of welding related duties in a service orientated environment. This position is based in the Fort McMurray Oil Sands region at the Mildred Lake Shop.
This position will work a 14x14, 12-hour continuous shift rotation. If you are a safety conscious team player, self-motivated, autonomous, detail-oriented and possess your Journeyperson Welder certification then you are exactly who we are looking for!

Job Description:

Major Job Functions:

• Ensure jobs are planned, organized and all required parts and tooling are accessible
• Minimize downtime and maintain production requirements as scheduled
• Examine and diagnose machine defects, repair damage and cracks when necessary
• Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment
• Maintain safe work practices
• Assist in training, directing and development of team members on the job
• Other work assigned as required

Qualifications & Experience:

• Journeyperson Welder Technician Certification required.
• Certification in Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) and Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) required.
• Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB) certifications would be considered an asset.
• Previous experience working with Caterpillar equipment and engines would be considered an asset.
• Proven ability to lead shop personnel, coordinate daily work activities, and drive productivity while fostering a strong safety culture.
• Demonstrated experience in fabrication, welding, equipment maintenance, and customer-focused project execution.
• Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and mentoring skills, with the ability to develop welders and fabricators while maintaining high quality standards.
• Experience working in a fast-paced production environment, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with customer delivery schedules.

Notes

• This position is located at our Mildred Lake shop on a 14x14 continuous shift
• Hourly rate: $64.04 - 71.16 / hour
• Boot Allowance: $300 / year
• Any future shift changes will be made in accordance with the collective agreement.
• Candidate selection will be in compliance with the terms of the current Collective Agreement
