Investigation Began With Online Listings
The case began on March 10, 2026, when security from Lululemon alerted police to suspicious listings on Facebook Marketplace. According to investigators, the items were being sold at roughly half their retail value, raising concerns they may have been stolen.
Police say the listings led them to identify a suspect operating out of Calgary.
Search Warrant Leads to Seizures
On March 28, officers executed a search warrant at a residence connected to the investigation. During the search, police recovered a quantity of new Lululemon clothing, along with what they described as a significant number of forged identity documents.
Investigators also seized 17 pieces of stolen mail, adding to the scope of the case.
23 Charges Laid
Following the search, Tyler Anthony Chasse has been charged with 23 offences. These include possession and trafficking of stolen property, possession of proceeds of crime, possession of stolen mail, and multiple counts related to forged documents.
He is scheduled to appear in court on April 10, 2026.
Police Point to Broader Impact of Retail Crime
Authorities say cases like this go beyond individual transactions. While resale of discounted goods may seem minor, police emphasize that organized retail theft and fraud can have wider effects on businesses and community safety.
They are also encouraging anyone who believes they may have purchased stolen goods or been affected by fraud to come forward.
Ongoing Investigation
The Calgary Police Service says the investigation remains active. Anyone with information is asked to contact police or submit tips anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
