Calgary police are asking for the public’s help to find a missing 70-year-old man last seen at Foothills Medical Centre in northwest Calgary.
Raymond was last seen around 10:44 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 23, at the hospital, 1403 29 Street N.W.
Police put out the appeal Saturday, Oct. 24. They say there’s no sign of foul play. But Raymond has a medical condition, and his family and police are worried about him.
He was last seen in a white t-shirt and blue jeans. He didn’t have a jacket.
What Raymond looks like
Calgary police describe Raymond as:
Age: 70
Height: 6'1" to 6'2"
Weight: About 200 pounds
Build: Heavy
Hair: Grey or white, slicked back, with a receding hairline
Last seen wearing: A white t-shirt and blue jeans, with no jacket
In the photo police released, Raymond is wearing a blue shirt. Police say he had on a white t-shirt when he was last seen.
Last seen at Foothills Medical Centre on Oct. 23
The hospital is in northwest Calgary, near the University Heights, St. Andrews Heights and Parkdale neighbourhoods.
Police haven’t said where Raymond may have gone after he left or whether anyone has seen him since. They also haven’t said what his medical condition is.
If you were near Foothills Medical Centre on Friday morning and think you saw him, police want to hear from you.
Missing without a jacket as Calgary temperatures drop
The detail that stands out in the police appeal is that Raymond didn’t have a jacket.
Calgary got wet snow Friday morning, just hours before he was last seen. Overnight temperatures are dropping below freezing this weekend.
Police haven’t said whether he is outside or where he might be. His family and investigators want to find him and make sure he’s OK.

How you can help
You don’t have to be a searcher to make a difference:
Share his photo. The more people who see it, the better the chance someone recognizes him.
Check your cameras. If you live or work near Foothills Medical Centre, look at doorbell, security or dashcam footage from Friday, Oct. 23, after 10:44 a.m.
Keep an eye out. Watch for a tall older man in a t-shirt and jeans, especially around bus stops, CTrain stations, parks and pathways in the northwest.
Check your property. Look in covered areas like entryways, garages and stairwells where someone might go to get out of the cold.
Only call police with real sightings or information. Don’t share rumours or guesses online.
If someone you know goes missing
In Canada, there’s no waiting period to report someone missing. You don’t have to wait 24 hours.
If the person is in immediate danger, call 911. Otherwise, call your local police non-emergency line. In Calgary, that’s 403-266-1234. Outside a city, call your local RCMP detachment.
It helps to have these ready when you call:
A recent photo
Height, weight, hair colour and any distinguishing features
What they were wearing
When and where they were last seen
Any medical conditions or medications they need
A vehicle description and plate number, if they drove
Their phone number and social media accounts
If an older family member is at risk of getting lost, keep a recent photo on your phone and make a note of what they’re wearing each day. Those details can save police valuable time.
