$25 Million Is Available to Convert Calgary Downtown Office Buildings Into Homes, Hotels, and Student Housing. The Deadline Is July 27

Calgary's Downtown Office Conversion Program reopened June 15 with $25 million in city incentive funding available for eligible projects. Hotel conversions now receive $75 per square foot, up from $60. Student housing, senior living, life sciences, and cultural spaces are eligible for the first time. Eight completed projects have already created nearly 800 homes and 226 hotel rooms downtown. Applications close July 27, 2026.
