The Opportunity
Keyano’s Public Engagement Department is currently seeking a Student Recruitment Coordinator to join their dynamic team. The Student Recruitment Coordinator is a key ambassador for Keyano College, promoting educational opportunities and inspiring prospective students to explore their academic and career goals. Through meaningful engagement with students, families, schools, community organizations, and industry partners, this role builds strong relationships that support recruitment efforts and enhance the College's presence throughout the Wood Buffalo region and beyond. Reporting to the Manager, Indigenous Relations & Student Recruitment, working in a dynamic, student-centered environment, the successful candidate will be a motivated relationship-builder who thrives both independently and collaboratively while helping students navigate their educational journey. The role requires travel, with occasional evening and weekend work, to support recruitment activities and community engagement opportunities throughout the region and beyond.Note: this is not a remote or hybrid work opportunity, you will be required to work on campus and relocate to Fort McMurray, AB.

• Represent and promote Keyano College at recruitment events, career fairs, education expos, community events, and outreach activities throughout the Wood Buffalo region, Alberta, and occasionally other provinces.• Establish and maintain relationships with local high schools, school counsellors, community organizations, Indigenous communities, employers, and external partners to support recruitment and student transition initiatives.
• Provide prospective students with information on programs, admission requirements, application and registration processes, deadlines, financial assistance, awards, student services, and academic pathways.
• Guide prospective students through the recruitment, application, admission, and registration processes, responding to inquiries and providing ongoing support.
• Conduct follow-up communications with prospective, admitted, conditionally admitted, and registration-eligible students to support applicant conversion and enrollment goals.
• Collaborate with academic departments, Student Services, Marketing and Communications, the Registrar's Office, faculty, advisors, counsellors, and support staff to ensure the delivery of accurate and consistent information.
• Coordinate and participate in regional recruitment initiatives, including Education & Career Fairs, trade shows, education expos, and professional networks such as Education Liaison Association of Alberta (ELAA) and Post-Secondary Indigenous Recruitment Association of Alberta (PIRRA), and other relevant associations.
• Assist in the planning, promotion, coordination, and delivery of recruitment and student engagement events, including Open House, Student for a Day, Orientation, and Student Information Sessions.
• Develop, distribute, and support recruitment materials, presentations, displays, and promotional resources through schools, community organizations, public events, and other outreach channels.
• Maintain accurate records of recruitment activities, student interactions, event participation, and community engagement initiatives, including updating student information system records and tracking outcomes.
• Collect, analyze, and report recruitment and event data, applicant feedback, and identified barriers to application, admission, and registration to support continuous improvement efforts.
• Participate in professional development activities and perform all recruitment and engagement activities within established budget parameters.
Qualifications
Required Qualification:• Diploma, certificate or degree in, Business, Marketing, Communications, Social Sciences, or a related field
• A minimum of two years of related experience in a student services or student recruitment environment
• Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
• Relationship building and organizational skills.
• Familiarity with post-secondary education programs and entrance requirements
• Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in student services, student recruitment, customer service, or related fields.
• Strong relationship-building skills with students, staff, employers, and community partners, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Knowledge of career pathways and experience using data and reporting to support program improvement.

Compensation and Benefits
• Compensation is $69,547.17 (CUPE IS7) with the following health and benefit package.• Employer paid comprehensive health and dental benefits, including a health spending account.
• Generous defined benefit pension plan though LAPP starting on day 1 of employment.
• This position qualifies for additional payment of the Northern Living Allowance of $1,040.00 per month.
• Generous vacation entitlement and the bonus of paid holidays between Christmas and New Years
• Life insurance is 2.5 times your annual salary
