Grande Prairie's biggest week of the year is nine days out. The Grande Prairie Stompede returns May 27 to 31, 2026, at Evergreen Park five days of pro rodeo, chuckwagon racing, a midway, live concerts, and a market that takes over Clarkson Hall every afternoon.
It has been running since 1978. Nearly five decades in, it still draws the kind of crowd that books hotels a month out.

Free Pancake Breakfast Wednesday Morning
Before any of the ticketed action starts, the City of Grande Prairie is throwing a free community pancake breakfast on Wednesday, May 27 from 8:30 to 10 a.m. at H.A. Rice Plaza beside Bonnetts Energy Centre. Show up, eat, and get into the spirit before heading out to Evergreen Park for opening night.

The Rodeo
CPRA pro rodeo runs Thursday through Sunday at 1 p.m. each day. The slate covers the full card barrel racing, bareback, saddle bronc, bull riding, steer wrestling, team roping, tie-down roping, breakaway roping, and junior steer riding. Wednesday kicks off with a slack session at noon covering steer wrestling, calf roping, breakaway, team roping, and ladies barrel racing.

Chuckwagons
Every evening at 5 p.m., Wednesday through Sunday, the chuckwagon show gets underway. The All Pro-Canadian Chuckwagons go at 5:45, followed by the World Professional Chuckwagon Association heats at 7:15. The WPCA is the top circuit in the country if you've never watched chuckwagon racing live, this is the place to do it.

Concerts
Two names confirmed for the Beer Gardens stage so far. David Lee Murphy the country artist best known for Dust on the Bottle plays Friday, May 29 at 9 p.m. Saturday, May 30 brings Jade Eagleson, the Ontario-bred country singer who has built a strong following across Western Canada.
