Kyle Benjamin Goertzen hasn’t been seen since Monday, Oct. 12, and the people who know him are getting scared.
RCMP are asking for help finding the 21-year-old Wetaskiwin man. He was last seen in Grande Prairie, and police say they’re concerned for his well-being.
His friends are asking too. Since the RCMP poster started circulating, the comments under it have filled up with the same plea: Kyle, please let someone know you’re OK.
EverythingGP reported Oct. 15 that Wetaskiwin RCMP are leading the search. Grande Prairie is about 550 km northwest of his hometown. The RCMP poster asks anyone with information to call the Grande Prairie detachment.
Police haven’t said where in Grande Prairie he was last seen, what he was wearing, or why they’re concerned.

“Everyone is worried sick”
The RCMP poster has been shared widely online. Under it, his friends keep posting the same message.
Some say they’re praying for him. Others just want him to call someone, anyone, and say he’s safe. Several are asking him to come home.
“Everyone is worried sick,” one comment reads.
Police are searching, and his friends and family are waiting for news. If you know where Kyle is, call police, even if you think someone else already has.

How you can help
The most useful thing you can do is share the RCMP poster or this article, especially in Grande Prairie, Wetaskiwin and the communities in between.
Please stick to what police have released. Guessing about why someone is missing can hurt the family and get in the way of the search. If you know something, tell police directly instead of posting it online.
If someone you know goes missing
The Alberta government says you don’t have to wait 24 hours to report someone missing. You can report it no matter how long they’ve been gone.
Police will ask about:
What they look like: a recent photo, plus age, height, build and any identifying features
Their health: medications or health concerns
What’s changed: whether this is out of character, and anything that might have set it off, like trouble at home or losing a job
Last contact: when and where they were last seen, who saw them last, and where you’ve already looked
Keep notes every time you talk to police. You can also search national missing persons cases on Canada’s Missing.
This story will be updated as RCMP release more information.
