Accommodations are available during the hiring process, upon request.As a Junior Business Analyst, you will assist finance staff with performing various tasks related to process improvement and documentation. Primary duties include:
- Assist with documenting business processes in Architecture of Integrated Information Systems (ARIS) using BPMN (Business Process Model and Notation) methodology ensuring adherence to established standards and approved templates.
- Contribute to refining and improving accounting processes and documentation across different functional areas in Finance.
- Conduct background research on finance related topics such as processes, procedures and best practices.
- Support the maintenance and organization of process documentation repositories and related records.
- Facilitate in preparing presentations, financials reports and other documentation such as training manuals and reference guides.
- Take part to the completion and execution of special projects and continuous improvement activities.
- A High School diploma or equivalency (e.g., GED) and 3 - 6 courses recognized by Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA).
- Preference will be given to candidate with 2 years of post-secondary education with a major in Business, Accounting or a related field.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint is required.
- Experience with ARIS and knowledge of BPMN methodology is required as the position will directly support process inventory and process mapping activities.
- Exposure to business process analysis, process mapping or requirements gathering through coursework, projects, volunteer work or employment is required.
- Demonstrated organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and communicate processes, a high attention to detail and excellent communication skills.

This position may be eligible to work from home for at least part of the time as one of several flexible work options available to City employees. These arrangements depend on the operational requirements of the role, employee suitability, and are subject to change based on operational needs and corporate direction.
