Grammy award-winning country singer Luke Combs is playing Commonwealth Stadium on Saturday, May 29, 2027.
Edmonton is one of only two Canadian stops on the entire tour. The other is Vancouver on June 5. No Toronto date, no Calgary date, nothing else in the country. Combs told his fan club plainly: one continent, two countries, twelve concerts.

General on-sale: Friday, August 21, 10 a.m. local time, through Ticketmaster.
Presale: Wednesday, August 19, 10 a.m. local time.
Before both, Combs' Bootleggers fan club gets first access Tuesday, August 18 at 10 a.m., with a 20-ticket limit per fan. Registration is through his website, and codes go out at least 15 minutes ahead.

Combs has confirmed the in-the-round stage is back, meaning the stage sits in the middle of the field rather than at one end.
Why it's always Commonwealth
This is the question people ask every time a stadium tour skips Calgary, and the venue's director has answered it directly.
"There are maybe five to 10 artists in the world that can do a stadium tour right now," Heather Seutter, director of Commonwealth Stadium, told Why Edmonton. "It's a big risk and artists want to make sure they have the ticket sales. The more times that we're able to put on a successful show demonstrates to concert promoters that we can handle the volume."
Then she laid out the chain. "To have the two sellouts that we did for Garth Brooks in 2022 brought us Luke Combs in 2023, and now we get two shows with Morgan Wallen."
Each sellout is the argument for the next booking. Promoters aren't ranking cities on merit, they're picking venues that have already proven they can fill.
The physical side matters too. Commonwealth seats 56,400 with room for another 10,000 on the floor, making it Canada's largest open-air stadium. Its record attendance is 66,835, set by U2's 360° Tour. Calgary has no equivalent outdoor room.
And because there isn't another prairie stadium of that size, Commonwealth is frequently the only stop between Toronto and Vancouver. Fans drive in from Saskatchewan, Manitoba and southern Alberta, which is exactly the volume a promoter wants to see before committing.
What Commonwealth has hosted
AC/DC played there four days ago, on August 9.
Morgan Wallen played two nights. Metallica played twice in August 2024, the first Canadian dates on the M72 tour, with a different setlist each night, and donated $50,000 each to Edmonton's Food Bank and WIN House afterward.
Garth Brooks sold out two shows in 2022. Combs himself drew more than 56,000 with Riley Green and Lainey Wilson on June 3, 2023.
The history runs further back. David Bowie played to 60,000 in 1983, Alberta's largest rock concert at the time, and returned with the Glass Spider tour four summers later. The stadium opened in July 1978.
"We're beyond excited to host one of country music's biggest performing artists again at Commonwealth Stadium, the largest outdoor venue in Canada," Seutter said. "The buzz around an event of this scale is incredible. It unites diverse music fans from all over Western Canada and truly showcases Edmonton as a must-play stage."
Why not Rogers Place
Capacity, and nothing else.
Rogers Place holds roughly 20,000 for a concert. Commonwealth holds 56,400 seated with another 10,000 on the floor. Combs' 2027 leg is twelve football stadiums seating 60,000 or more, which is the whole design of the tour.
Rogers Place gets arena tours. This isn't one. The two venues aren't competing for the same shows, and Edmonton is one of the few Canadian cities that can offer both.
Toronto is the more interesting absence. Combs played two nights at Rogers Stadium there in June 2026 and isn't returning in 2027. Neither Combs nor the promoter has said why.
Your ticket is your transit fare
Worth knowing before May 2027. Under the City's Ticket to Ride program, a concert ticket for a major Commonwealth event counts as valid transit fare.
You don't need to tap on or off at Arc validators or buy a fare. Show the ticket, physical or digital, to a transit peace officer if asked. Stadium station is at the door.
Event parking restrictions start two hours before the event and lift at 11 p.m.
Why only twelve shows
The 2027 run continues the tour Combs took through North America and Europe this year, which finished with three nights at Wembley Stadium.
Every venue on the new leg is a football stadium seating 60,000 or more. Fewer dates, bigger rooms, the same approach Morgan Wallen has taken. It makes each show an event rather than a stop.
It also means anyone east of Edmonton is driving or flying.
The tour opens April 3 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington and closes June 26 at Petco Park in San Diego.
