A semi driver is dead and the person responsible still hasn't been found six weeks after a black Ford F150 caused a fatal collision on Highway 49 and drove away.
What Happened
On February 18, between 1 and 2 p.m., a black Ford F150 pulled out to pass a semi hauling lumber on Highway 49, just south of Township Road 676 in the Municipal District of Smoky River. While overtaking, the pickup crossed into oncoming traffic directly into the path of a second semi carrying a full petroleum load.
The semi driver swerved to avoid a head-on collision. The truck rolled into the northbound ditch. That driver did not survive. The F150 left the scene.

Dashcam Footage Released
McLennan RCMP obtained dashcam footage during the investigation. Images released from that footage show the black pickup in the wrong lane, moving toward the driver's side of the oncoming semi with feet to spare before impact the moment the semi driver made the decision to swerve.
The Truck
RCMP are looking for a newer model Ford F150 with the following:
Black exterior
Black rims
Black soft roll-up bed cover
Silver grille, side vent covers and side mirrors
