Red Deer RCMP are asking the public to help find Blake Ross, a 13-year-old boy who has been missing since Thursday.
Blake was last seen in Red Deer on May 14. He is described as having dirty blonde hair, standing 5 feet 3 inches tall, and weighing around 110 pounds.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call the Red Deer RCMP Detachment at 403-406-2200. Anonymous tips can be submitted through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS or at p3tips.com.

Youth Are the Most Common Missing Persons in Canada
Blake's age puts him squarely in the demographic that goes missing most often. In 2024, Canada recorded approximately 32,680 missing children cases — representing nearly half of all missing person reports nationally. While more than 90 percent of cases were resolved within a week, a concerning number became long-term or recurrent disappearances.
Most missing children reports involve youth who ran away — roughly 70 to 73 percent of cases — often linked to family conflict, abuse, mental health challenges, substance use, or systemic instability. While many of these children are located quickly, they face heightened risks of exploitation, trafficking, and violence while missing.
There is no 24-hour waiting period to report someone missing in Canada — police encourage people to report immediately.
Alberta Cases
Alberta currently has 13 active missing children cases documented by the Missing Children Society of Canada. Red Deer has seen a string of missing youth cases in recent months, including 13-year-old Anthony Macnei in late April and 14-year-old Arlow Pinette in early April — both of whom were later located.
If you have seen Blake Ross or have any information about his whereabouts, call Red Deer RCMP at 403-406-2200 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
