Most job roundups sort by employer, which is useless if you're the one applying. You don't care what Neo Financial does until you know whether you'd get an interview.
So this is sorted by what you can actually get.
Jobs you can get with no experience
Elections Alberta is the biggest one, and the requirements are almost nothing. Sixteen or older, eligible to work in Canada, criminal record check. Paid hourly, and the training is paid too.
They need a minimum of 60,000 people province-wide for the October 19 referendum, with postings in Edmonton, Calgary, Grande Prairie, Red Deer, Lethbridge, Medicine Hat and Fort McMurray. Applications close October 10.

Hell's Kitchen at River Cree posted twelve roles on August 4, and six need no culinary training at all. Host, Server, Server Assistant, Food Runner, Steward, Assistant F&B Manager.
It's the opening team at the first Hell's Kitchen in Canada. The restaurant hasn't opened yet and the date has moved more than once, but that's a line on a résumé that works anywhere in North America.
The City of Edmonton has two entry-band roles open that don't need a specialized degree: Waste System Educator and Park Stewardship Program Lead.
Jobs where you'll know the pay before you apply
This is worth its own section because so few employers do it.
City of Edmonton union postings list the classification and the pay band directly on the listing. You know what the job pays before you spend an hour on the application, which is the single most common complaint people have about job hunting.
Currently posted union and non-union roles include Planning Technician I, Development Engineer in Training, Strategic Planning Analyst II, Senior Buyer in Supply Chain Management, Communications Advisor, Council Meeting Coordinator, Corporate Records Administrator, Property Sales and Marketing Officer I, and a Bilingual Library Assistant at the Idylwylde Branch in English and French.

Nearly everything else on this list asks you to apply first and discuss compensation later.
Jobs for a specific credential
Engineering and planning. Development Engineer in Training at the City of Edmonton, for anyone working toward their P.Eng. Bird has four roles across Calgary and Edmonton in project delivery and field supervision.
Software and data. Senior Front-End Developer at Jobber, which has 30 roles open and every one of them in Edmonton. Senior Full Stack Developer for Geospatial Services and Digital Architect at the Government of Alberta. Neo Financial has 21 across Calgary and Edmonton.
Health and public health. Medical Officer of Health with the Government of Alberta, which needs a physician with public health credentials.
Policy, analysis and administration. Senior Service Designer, Policy Analyst, Reclamation and Contaminated Sites Policy Analyst, Provincial Duty Officer, Manager of Strategic Operations, Information Coordinator at the Legal Resolution Support Centre, and Director of Rapid Execution Delivery, all with the province.
Education. SAIT has 15 roles across Calgary and Edmonton. Instructor postings generally want industry experience rather than a teaching background, which is worth knowing if you've spent fifteen years in a trade and never taught.
Kitchen leadership. Executive Sous Chef, Sous Chef, Junior Sous Chef, Chef de Partie, First Cook and Second Cook at Hell's Kitchen.
If you're early in your career
The Environmental Intern posting with the Government of Alberta is the clearest entry point on the board right now.
Provincial postings run from internships to director level, so the first page isn't the whole list. Ninety-nine roles are open across the province, with the largest share in Edmonton.

Three things that make applications land
Apply within 48 hours of a posting going up. Screening is often rolling and the early pile gets read most carefully.
Match your resume language to the posting language. Automated screening looks for the terms in the job description, not the synonyms you prefer.
For city and provincial roles, answer the screening questions properly. Failing to demonstrate an essential qualification in writing is the most common reason applications get cut before a human reads them.
