As a Body Worn Camera ¿ In Car Video (BWC-ICV) Technician, you will provide troubleshooting of technology, technology faults and lifecycle management of the technical components of the Calgary Police Service (CPS) BWC-ICV Team. You will act as the subject matter expert on BWC-ICV equipment, technology and systems overseeing documentation and KPI reporting. Primary duties include:

• Provide information, guidance and support to police officers and respond to inquiries regarding the BWC-ICV technology, program and operations.
• Monitor, track and provide controls to manage the BWC-ICV inventory and BWC licences ensuring only authorized police officers are assigned BWCs.
• Distribute upgraded BWCs to police officers with BWCs, collect BWCs to be decommissioned, and ensure training sessions are available.
• Consult with frontline officers and others with BWCs to ensure technology requirements of the BWC are met and maintained.
• Provide hardware and software support over the phone and remote support to CPS members and external partners.
• Research BWC-ICV add-ons, their functions and benefits and prioritize potential benefits balanced with estimated costs to provide recommendations.
• Monitor statistics, metrics, KPIs and provide monthly reporting on which KPIs to focus on BWC-ICV operations.
• Provide input in the creation of SOPs, instruction manuals, training support documentation, guidelines and reference materials.
• Assist the Media Disclosure Specialists in examining, reviewing, converting, and vetting digital multimedia evidence using various technologies and software techniques for disclosure.

Working Conditions: Office Environment with regular exposure to graphic and sensitive material, and rare attendance to call-outs to assist the BWC and ICV users.

Qualifications 

• A High School Diploma or equivalency (e.g., GED) and a minimum of 3 years experience plus job-related coursework (e.g. Business Case Development, Effective Writing, LDP 100 or relevant equivalency).
• Experience with systems such as Sentry, Content Server, CAD or similar is required.
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office is required.
• Knowledge in law enforcement practices, policing procedures, relevant legislation, acts and regulations.

Pre-employment Requirements 

• An enhanced security clearance will be conducted.
• Successful applicants must provide proof of qualifications. Education obtained from out of country must have or be able to obtain, an Education Credential Assessment (ECA) for confirmation of equivalent credentials.

Compensation: Pay Grade 8 $39.00 - 52.14 per hour

Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week 

Days of work: This position works a 4-day compressed work week.
