As a Journeyperson I - Autobody Technician, you will be responsible for various body repairs. Primary duties include:- Design, build, repair, modify, paint, refinish and adjust all types of wooden and metal automotive bodies. This includes trucks, buses, automobiles, Light Rail Vehicles (LRVs), auxiliary units and accessories.
- Perform related body shop tasks, such as prepping, welding, spray painting, body repair and parts replacement.
- Operate a wide variety of power tools, hand tools, and equipment while following blueprints, patterns, or specification manuals.
- A completed related Journeyperson Certificate as an Autobody Technician (must have all 3 certifications: Prepper, Refinisher and Repair) or equivalent recognized by Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training.
- A valid Class 5 Driver's License (or provincial equivalent), with no more than 6 demerits and no current suspensions or charges pending.
- Ability to obtain a City of Calgary operator's permit.
- The ability to obtain an air brake (Q) endorsement is required.
- The ability to lift 20kg (45lbs) on a regular basis is required.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude will be considered as an asset.
- Previous training or experience in welding, upholstering and framing, and/or wheel alignment will be considered assets.
- You are strong a communicator who takes initiatives and demonstrate well developed planning and organizational skills.
- Success in this role requires you to demonstrate sound judgment in safety standards; excellent technical proficiency, interpersonal skills, customer service, and high work standards.

- Compensation: $46.94 - 52.54 per hour
- Hours of work: Non-Standard 40 hour work week.
- Days of work: These positions will work Friday - Monday, 05:00 - 15:00. Applicants must be available to work evenings, weekends, shift work, and overtime.
