Shots were fired near the Lloydminster Travelodge Friday evening. The investigation is ongoing and police need the public's help.
Lloydminster RCMP responded to the area of the Travelodge at approximately 7:57 p.m. on June 26 after receiving a report of gunfire. Officers attended and confirmed shots had been fired. No injuries have been reported and RCMP say there is no ongoing threat to public safety — but residents should expect an increased police presence in the area while investigators work the file.
Nobody has been arrested in connection with the shooting. Investigators are now asking the public for help locating four vehicles and identifying three persons of interest.
The vehicles police are looking for
Four vehicles are believed to be connected to the incident:
Two white four-door BMW SUVs with unknown licence plates. One of the SUVs is believed to have sustained rear-end damage. Both were last seen travelling southbound on 50 Avenue near 36 Street after the shooting.
A black Dodge Ram pickup truck.
A dark-coloured Hyundai sedan.
If you saw any of these vehicles in the area of the Travelodge or on 50 Avenue near 36 Street on Friday evening, contact RCMP even if what you saw seemed unremarkable at the time.
The persons of interest
Three individuals have been described:
A suspect last seen wearing a tan hoodie, tan pants, and white shoes.
A woman wearing a red shirt and black pants.
A man wearing a white shirt with green shorts featuring white trim.
None of these individuals has been publicly identified. RCMP have not confirmed what role each person may have played in the incident.
What this is not connected to
The following evening Saturday June 27 over a dozen RCMP vehicles responded to a home in the 1600 block of 52B Avenue in Lloydminster, where tactical devices were used and one man was arrested in connection with an ongoing investigation. RCMP specifically confirmed that arrest is not connected to the Travelodge shooting.
Two serious police incidents in two consecutive evenings in the same city. RCMP have been clear they are separate files.
Lloydminster's recent pattern
This is not an isolated incident for Lloydminster. The border city has seen a series of serious criminal incidents involving firearms and gang activity over the past year.
In November 2025, two men were treated at Lloydminster Hospital for gunshot wounds after a targeted, gang-related shooting. RCMP later identified a suspect — Robert Lee Plourde, 30, of Turtleford, Saskatchewan — and issued a warrant for his arrest. In June 2024, two individuals were airlifted to hospital after a home invasion involving gunshot wounds. Lloydminster RCMP has also been dealing with a spike in stolen vehicles, drug trafficking, and organized criminal activity that led to the creation of the AGENT enforcement program in March 2026 — a partnership between RCMP and Municipal Enforcement specifically targeting nuisance properties and trespassing linked to criminal activity.
Friday's shooting near the Travelodge lands in that context.
