Lethbridge has been calling itself Baseball's Home for a while. Starting tomorrow, it's going to have to prove it.

The first-ever Canadian Grand Slam of Baseball Showcase and Festival runs May 21 to 31 at Spitz Stadium, transforming the south Lethbridge stadium and surrounding area into what organizers are billing as the biggest baseball event in Western Canada. The ten-day event is a joint venture between the Lethbridge Bulls, the City of Lethbridge, Lethbridge Tourism, and the Sport Council.
"This isn't about one team or one moment it's about generations of players, families, fans, and volunteers who have built baseball in our community since 1885," said Bulls president and CEO Kevin Kvame.
The event grew out of a scheduling coincidence. The Canadian College Baseball World Series, the Prairie Qualifier for the Morneau Cup, the Bulls' home opener, and a province-wide T-ball Jamboree all lined up in the same ten-day window. "Hey, all this stuff is aligned at the same time why don't we give it a name?" Kvame recalled thinking. The Canadian Grand Slam was born.

What's On
The Canadian College Baseball World Series runs May 21 to 24, bringing top collegiate teams from across Western Canada to Spitz Stadium in a double-knockout format. The Prairie Baseball Academy Lethbridge's own collegiate program is among the participants.

The Prairie Qualifier for the Morneau Cup follows, continuing the elite competition through the week.
The Canadian Baseball Legends Gala takes place May 27 at the Sandman Signature Hotel, featuring keynote speaker Kevin Pillar the former Toronto Blue Jay and current TV analyst. The evening is part celebration, part fundraiser, focused on the continued growth of baseball in southern Alberta.

The Lethbridge Bulls open their 2026 home season May 28 against the Brooks Bombers, with another home game May 29. Both games are wrapped in the full festival atmosphere food trucks, beer gardens featuring southern Alberta breweries, and live entertainment.
The T-Ball Jamboree runs May 29 to 30, bringing kids onto the Spitz Stadium field. Celebrity Kids Camp sessions, autograph appearances from Kevin Pillar and Bulls players, and a Girls Got Game Camp round out the youth programming.
Throughout the festival, the Parkside Grand Slam Plaza outside the stadium is running daily with pancake breakfasts, BBQs, bouncy castles, a radar gun station where fans can test their pitch speed, and live performances from local bands.
