Just before 7 a.m. on Friday, March 6, two masked men walked into the Chevron gas station on Vista Trail in Blackfalds and robbed it.
According to Blackfalds RCMP, both suspects were male and dressed in heavy winter clothing and leather work gloves. One of them appeared to be carrying a handgun. They took cash and cigarettes from the store, then crossed Vista Trail on foot and got into a waiting vehicle.
It is not the first time something like this has happened in Blackfalds. In November 2024, two people in scream masks entered the town's 7-Eleven, threatened staff, and fired a shotgun into the ceiling before fleeing with cash. Two Red Deer residents were later arrested and charged in that case.
RCMP have not confirmed any connection between the two incidents.
