A video of a woman allegedly keying a parked car has racked up 1.4 million views after being posted to social media on May 15.
The clip, filmed from an elevated angle overlooking a parking lot, shows a woman in a white hoodie standing beside a black vehicle. A white car bearing an Alberta licence plate is parked nearby, visible throughout the footage. The video was captioned: "Just because you can't see anyone around? Doesn't mean someone ain't watching."
The post had accumulated 1.4 million views within roughly 24 hours of being published.

Keying a vehicle deliberately scratching the paint with a key or sharp object is considered mischief under Canada's Criminal Code and can result in criminal charges depending on the value of the damage caused. A single keying incident can cost thousands of dollars in bodywork and paint repair.
The woman has not been publicly identified and it is unclear whether police have been contacted.

What She's Actually Looking At
Keying someone's car in Canada isn't a bylaw ticket. There's no $500 fine and a slap on the wrist. It's mischief under Section 430 of the Criminal Code and depending on the damage, it can mean criminal charges.
Under $5,000 in damage: mischief under $5,000, a hybrid offence with up to two years in prison on conviction. Over $5,000: indictable, up to 10 years. A single panel repaint in Alberta runs anywhere from $500 to $1,500, so a full side of a vehicle gets there fast.
On top of any criminal exposure, the owner of the keyed car can sue in civil court for repair costs.
The woman hasn't been identified publicly and it's unclear if a complaint has been filed. But that Alberta plate is right there in the video if someone does call police, identifying the registered owner of that car would take about five minutes.
