Darion, 15, was reported missing from the northeast Calgary community of Cornerstone on Tuesday, February 17, 2026. As of Friday, February 20, he has not been located, and both his caregivers and police say they are genuinely concerned for his wellbeing.
A Calgary February Is No Place to Be Underdressed
This is where the urgency becomes impossible to ignore. Darion was last seen wearing only blue jeans and a black T-shirt. That's it.
In Calgary, February temperatures regularly drop to -15°C to -20°C overnight, with wind chill pushing the feels-like temperature even lower. Environment Canada considers prolonged exposure at those temperatures a serious health risk frostbite can set in on exposed skin in as little as 10 to 30 minutes in windy conditions. For someone without a proper winter jacket, boots, or layers, spending multiple nights outdoors or even waiting at a CTrain station is genuinely dangerous.
Darion also suffers from undisclosed medical conditions, which adds another layer of concern. His caregivers, who know his health situation best, have expressed worry and that alone should tell you this is serious.
Where He May Be
Police say Darion is known to rely heavily on public transit specifically the CTrain to move around the city. He could be anywhere along Calgary's Red or Blue Line corridors: downtown, the northeast, the south. If you've ridden the CTrain in the last few days, think back. A teenager in jeans and a black T-shirt, no winter gear.
He is described as 5'7", approximately 160 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair.
Not an Amber Alert But Still Urgent
This case does not meet the threshold for an Amber Alert, which in Canada is specifically reserved for confirmed child abductions where there is reason to believe the child's life is in immediate danger from a third party. There is currently no indication of foul play in Darion's disappearance.
That said, police are not treating this lightly. They are working with the Missing Children Society of Canada to issue a separate alert and have made a public appeal for help a sign investigators want as many eyes on this as possible.
