Edmonton is getting Canada's first Hell's Kitchen. The only question right now is exactly when this summer.
River Cree Resort and Casino on Enoch Cree Nation roughly 20 minutes west of downtown Edmonton will open the eighth Hell's Kitchen in the world and the first outside the United States. The other seven locations are all in American cities: Las Vegas, New York, Lake Tahoe, Chicago, and a few others. Edmonton beat every other Canadian city to this one.
The opening was originally targeted for early 2026 and has since been pushed to Summer 2026. Reservations are not open yet.

How Hell's Kitchen Started
Hell's Kitchen the restaurant is based on Gordon Ramsay's long-running television series of the same name, where aspiring chefs compete in brutal kitchen services split between red and blue teams. Ramsay opened the first physical restaurant in Las Vegas in 2018, building the space to replicate the show's set right down to the red and blue team division in the dining room.
The concept took off. Diners who had watched the show for years could finally eat the food they had watched contestants cook, in the actual environment they had seen on screen. Seven locations later, the brand is expanding internationally for the first time with River Cree as the launch point.

What Is Different About the Edmonton Location
Every other Hell's Kitchen is inside an American casino or entertainment resort. The River Cree location has one element none of the others have: Indigenous-inspired menu items developed in collaboration with Enoch Cree Nation.
River Cree Resort CEO and General Manager Vik Mahajan confirmed that through collaboration with Ramsay's team, Indigenous cuisine inspired by Enoch Cree Nation will appear on the Hell's Kitchen menu alongside the standard Ramsay dishes. What those items are has not been announced yet.
River Cree Resort sits on Enoch Cree Nation land and is operated by the First Nation. The culinary collaboration is not a side element it is built into the menu from the start, making this the only Hell's Kitchen in the world where local Indigenous culture is embedded directly into what you eat.

The Menu
The full River Cree menu has not been released. Based on all existing Hell's Kitchen locations, here is what to expect as the foundation:
Beef Wellington is the signature dish at every location individual portions of beef tenderloin wrapped in mushroom duxelles and puff pastry, cooked to order. It is the dish most associated with Ramsay and the one that gets ordered at almost every table.
Other staples across Hell's Kitchen locations include pan-seared scallops, lobster risotto, sticky toffee pudding, and an array of Ramsay classics. Pricing has not been confirmed for the River Cree location. Expect fine dining price points Las Vegas menus run roughly $40 to $70 for mains.
When the River Cree menu is released, Culture Alberta will update this article.

The Space
Hell's Kitchen at River Cree takes over the space formerly occupied by The Kitchen restaurant at the resort. It seats more than 250 guests and includes a year-round patio. The interior follows the Hell's Kitchen design template: red team and blue team seating sections, an open kitchen concept, and the theatrical atmosphere that makes the dining experience feel like being on the set of the show.
