A 22-year-old Lethbridge man is back in custody after police say he used Snapchat to lure a 13-year-old girl and this isn't the first time he's faced charges like these.
According to Lethbridge Police, the investigation began in mid-December 2025 after the girl's friends reported that she had been contacted online by a then 21-year-old man who wanted to meet and have sex. The girl met him at a city park. Police were called shortly after, but the man had already left. Officers tracked him down using descriptions of him and his vehicle and arrested him without incident.
Further investigation confirmed he had been messaging the girl online, knew she was 13, and had offered to buy her alcohol before bringing her back to his home.
Sean Cedric Bilo, now 22, is charged with luring a child under 14 and invitation to sexual touching. He remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in court on March 20.
This isn't his first run-in with similar charges.
In June 2023, when Bilo was 19, Lethbridge police charged him in connection with a separate incident involving another 13-year-old girl. At the time, he faced a much longer list of charges including sexual assault, sexual interference, making and distributing child pornography, possession of child pornography, invitation to sexual touching, and luring a child.
He was released on bail with conditions following a judicial interim release hearing. By March 2024, he was back in custody after being charged with breaching those conditions. Court records show his case went through multiple adjournments, with his defence still seeking disclosure from the Crown as recently as late 2024.
The outcome of those original 2023 charges has not been publicly reported as of this writing.
Lethbridge Police say the current investigation is ongoing and no further information is available at this time.
Sean Cedric Bilo has not been convicted of any charges referenced in this article. He is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
