Edmonton's north side is about to get a whole lot busier on weekends.
Word is spreading among Costco employees that a brand new warehouse location is headed to Manning Town Centre at 153 Avenue and Manning Drive and Northside shoppers couldn't be happier about it.
The rumour mill started churning back in March when employees at the 50th Street location got the news. With Costco's typical build-out taking 9-10 months, we're looking at a potential August 2026 grand opening.

Why This Matters for North Edmonton
For years, Northside residents have been making the trek to either the 50th Street location near Clareview or battling the chaos at the Yellowhead Costco arguably the busiest Costco in the city. A Manning location would be a game-changer for the rapidly growing communities in the northeast think Hollick-Kenyon, Crystallina Nera, Brintnell and the ever-expanding neighbourhoods pushing toward Fort Saskatchewan.
Manning Town Centre already boasts heavy hitters like Cabela's, Canadian Tire, Cineplex, and the recently opened FreshCo and Movati Athletic. Adding Costco to that mix? It's basically a full Saturday afternoon sorted.
The intersection sees serious traffic too Manning Drive pulls 31,400 vehicles per day, and 153 Avenue sees another 12,100. Translation: lots of eyeballs, and a new Costco will absolutely capitalize on that.

Not Officially Confirmed Yet
To be clear, Costco hasn't made a formal public announcement. The retailer is notoriously tight-lipped about new locations until construction is well underway. But the employee chatter combined with Manning Town Centre's site plans—which have shown a Costco-sized footprint for some time suggest this one's more "when" than "if."
We've reached out to Costco Canada for comment and will update this story as more details emerge.
