Alberta RCMP are asking the public for help locating a Medicine Hat man wanted in connection with a string of vehicle thefts in west central Saskatchewan last fall.
Daniel Liam James Vierling, 32, was featured this week on the Alberta RCMP's Wanted Wednesday social media program. His last known location is Medicine Hat and police say he has been active in the Redcliff area.
A warrant was issued for Vierling's arrest in March after he failed to appear in Leader provincial court. He faces charges of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and possession of break-in instruments.

Part of a larger investigation
Vierling is one of four Medicine Hat residents charged in October 2025 after RCMP recovered stolen vehicles in the Leader and Kindersley areas of west central Saskatchewan. The others charged at that time were Amber McNab, 31, Jeffery Lawless, 40, and Andrea Christianson, 47.
Vierling is the only one of the four who failed to appear in court. The warrant for his arrest was issued in March 2026.
What Wanted Wednesday is
Alberta RCMP's Wanted Wednesday program posts individuals with active warrants believed to be living in Alberta on the force's social media accounts every week. The people selected aren't chosen randomly. RCMP uses Statistics Canada's Crime Severity Index to rank wanted individuals by the seriousness of their offences and their potential risk to public safety. The top candidates from each of Alberta's four provincial districts are selected weekly.
The top 20% of offenders are responsible for 90% of the total Alberta RCMP Crime Severity Index score — meaning the people featured on Wanted Wednesday represent a concentrated share of serious criminal activity in the province. Medicine Hat News
